The 69th Gibraltar International Drama Festival, held at the Ince’s Hall Theatre, reached its conclusion at the Gala Night on Friday 27th March 2026. The Adjudicator, Mr David Price announced the following Awards: 

The Minister for Health and Care, the Hon Gemma Arias-Vasquez, has welcomed the international recognition received following Gibraltar’s historic live telesurgery programme, which featured during a special plenary session at the 41st Annual Congress of the European Association of Urology. 

The Gibraltar Tourist Board, on behalf of the Ministry of Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, has today unveiled Gibraltar’s first official ‘Gibraltar’ sign at Campion Park. 

HM Government of Gibraltar has announced that the new duty on fuels will be set at 14 pence per litre, representing a 50% reduction from the original proposed rate of 28 pence per litre.

This week, in recognition of British Sign Language (BSL) Week, the Supported Needs and Disability Office (SNDO), operating under the Ministry of Equality, has introduced a new British Sign Language (BSL) video interpretation service for persons who are d/Deaf.

Whilst in London attending a CPA seminar, Minister Bruzon took time out to visit the fantastic facilities at Calpe House.

The Gibraltar Branch was represented at the 74th Westminster Seminar on Effective Parliaments by the Hon Leslie Bruzon MP, Minister for Industrial Relations, Civil Contingencies and Sport, and Mr Phillip Borge McCarthy, Clerk to the Gibraltar Parliament.

Gibraltar Cultural Services on behalf of the Ministry for Culture has today launched ‘Tepatoa & Olathe’ by Sheridan Povedano. Sheridan has been the second candidate to take part in the Young Writer’s Initiative ran by Gibraltar Cultural Services.

The Ministry of Culture was once again represented at this Year’s London Book Fair by Gibraltar Cultural Services (GCS) with the visit proving both fruitful and positive. The trip provided a valuable networking and learning opportunity through a series of face-to-face meetings, the establishment of new contacts and the strengthening of existing relationships. 

The Minister for Health, Care and Business, the Hon Gemma Arias-Vasquez, has this afternoon formally tabled the Gibraltar Mental Health Board Annual Inspection Report 2025 in Parliament, in accordance with the requirements of the Mental Health Act 2016.
