The Gibraltar Contingency Council (GCC) met yesterday to review the current security environment and assess potential implications for Gibraltar arising from recent global developments. 

The winners of the Commonwealth essay competition received their prizes from the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia CMG MP this afternoon. 

The Maritime Fire Fighting unit, which had become a fixture at Gibraltar Airport, has now been relocated to the University of Gibraltar. 

A formal presentation of specialised equipment to the GHA Audiology Service by GHITA (Gibraltar Hearing Issues and Tinnitus Association) took place on 26th March 2026. 

The Gibraltar Youth Service hosted members of the Dolphins Youth Club and their families at a Spring Tea Party with over 200 people coming together for an afternoon of connection and community spirit. 

Gibraltar’s beaches will be operating with limited Lifeguard and Beach attendance services as from Easter this year. Lifeguards will be deployed at all beaches, with the exception of Western Beach, during the Easter weekend and all weekends thereafter until the summer bathing season officially begins. 

Three hundred Year 3–5 students at St Anne’s Primary School have been recognised for their outstanding participation in the FIBA / GABBA Hoops for Schools programme, with each class successfully reaching the impressive 1,000-point milestone. 

Governor’s Meadow Lower Primary School celebrated a vibrant Maths Day aimed at making mathematics fun and engaging. The event featured a range of hands-on, active, and creative activities that encouraged children to explore maths in an enjoyable and interactive way. 

Mark Montovio, Project Co-ordinator for the Minister for developing relations with Morocco, and himself a teacher by profession, and who delivers the Counselling courses at the Gibraltar College, recently participated in the National Forum for Teachers held in Rabat, a two-day event organised under the auspices of the Moroccan Ministry of Education and the Mohammed VI Foundation.

The Ministry of Equality, in collaboration with the Customer Care Hub, will be hosting a targeted event promoting digital inclusion among persons aged 65 and over.
