The Ministry of Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism has launched its second initiative under the developmental strand of the PATHS programme at the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Services (DARS). 

The Ministry once again enlisted Eduardo Vergara Aguilar to deliver courses in Applied Philosophy. Eduardo holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Seville and is a certified expert in Criminology, Criminal Psychology and Victimology. He has over a decade of experience delivering Applied Philosophy sessions in custodial settings across Huelva, Málaga, Seville, Algeciras, Badajoz and Madrid, as well as working on suicide prevention schemes, post-traumatic stress support groups and social exclusion projects in Algeciras and Tetuán. 

Eduardo led philosophy workshops at DARS for clients in rehabilitation, designed to encourage critical thinking and explore moral, existential and introspective questions. The sessions introduced practical tools for self-reflection, supporting clients in reconsidering their lives and circumstances. Seven clients took part, engaging with themes such as Norse mythology, Descartes, Heracles, addiction, Odysseus and Sparta. Each participant received a certificate upon completion.
