The Gibraltar Stronger In Europe Campaign is delighted with the response which it has had from the general public after its official launch yesterday at the Piazza.  The overwhelming support seen for the remain campaign is quite palpable.

The Govt have today announced that in the first quarter of this year the amount owing in rent arrears has fallen from £6,017,341 to £5,756,673.

The Minister for Education, the Hon Gilbert Licudi QC, yesterday renewed the agreement between HMGoG and the The Washington Center (TWC). The Chief International Officer and Senior Vice President, Pilar Mendiola-Fernández for TWC, who flew over from Washington especially for this occasion, met with Mr Licudi at Gibraltar House in London for the signing ceremony.

Minister for Financial Services and Maritime Services, the Hon Albert Isola MP, led a delegation to Singapore on 7th and 8th April and then on to Hong Kong on 11th and 12th April 2016.

German cruise ship Mein Schiff 4 paid its inaugural call to Gibraltar on Saturday 9th April. The vessel is part of the German TUI Cruises fleet, which is a joint venture operation with the American firm Royal Caribbean Cruises.

The Minister for Education, Gilbert Licudi QC, introduced the Gibraltar Lecture at the Oxford Literary Festival this past weekend.

The Gibraltar Lecture is delivered each year at the festival and is devoted to matters of major cultural, historical or international importance, at the invitation of Her Majesty's Government of Gibraltar.

Albert Isola, Minister with responsibility for Financial Services and Maritime Services, led a delegation to Singapore on 7th and 8th April. The Gibraltar Cultural Services, on behalf of the Ministry for Culture, have announced the return of the Teatro Lirico Andaluz to perform in Gibraltar as part of the Spring Festival Cultural programme.

The ESG have released a statement where they claim they "totally opposes the proposal to build a land-based fuel storage facility, as this is further industrialisation with potentially damaging effects on our environment."

This follows the recent Official Notice by the Govt inviting Expressions of Interest for the creation and development of land based storage of marine fuels in Gibraltar.

The Mayor, Adolfo Canepa, hosted a Reception on Thursday at the Mons Calpe Suite in connection with the Miss Gibraltar Pageant 2016, where 9 contestants drew their official numbers for the pageant.

Workers Memorial Day will be celebrated on Wednesday 27th April 2016. The event is organised by Unite the Union Health and Safety Committee with Gibraltar Cultural Services collaborating and assisting Unite to ensure the smooth running of the event.

The occasion will be celebrated with a short ceremony at the Alameda Gardens as from 11am. The Hon Neil Costa MP will be leading the Ceremony.
