The Gibraltar Contingency Council [GCC] met at 7pm today, to consider the implications of today’s events in London in regard to the security of Gibraltar.

The GCC concluded that there was no intelligence to suggest that there was a threat to Gibraltar, or any operational requirement to raise Gibraltar’s security threat level from Substantial.

The GCC will continue to closely monitor events in London. Concurrently, the Royal Gibraltar Police’s operational posture will continue to be reviewed, and the public can expect to see an increased uniformed police presence. The public are asked to remain vigilant and to report any security concerns to the Royal Gibraltar Police.

The GCC would also like to reassure the public, that today’s increased vehicular and pedestrian delays exiting Gibraltar, was unconnected.
