The Ministry for Transport, Traffic and Technical Services yesterday announced the introduction of a pilot Pay & Display zone at Line Wall Road as part of the Sustainable Traffic, Transport and Parking Plan.
Effective yesterday, Line Wall Road from the light-controlled crossing by the American War Memorial to its junction with Cloister Ramp, has become Pay & Display parking from the hours of 10:00 to 19:00 Monday to Friday, and 10:00 to 14:00 on Saturdays.
Motorcycles will be no longer be permitted to park throughout this area of Line Wall Road. Parking of motorcycles has already been provided as part of the scheme at Zoca Flank and Reclamation Road, which have recently been converted to motorcycle parking zones.
These parking improvements, in keeping with the recommendations of the plan, are intended to provide parking turnaround and access to the town centre. Parking outside of the Pay & Display times will be free of charge.
The Minister for Transport, Traffic and Technical Services, Paul Balban, said: “I am pleased to see the introduction of this pilot scheme as part of the continued workings of the STTPP. I would like to thank my Traffic Team for their efforts to enhance the public and residential parking experience.”
