A COVID-19 Public Information Call Centre has been established, based at No 6 Convent Place, and will take all queries regarding COVID-19 that are not medical in nature.
The Department of Social Security advises the public that as part of HM Government’s response to the Covid-19 outbreak arrangements for Social Assistance payments due this Thursday 19th March 2020 will be paid on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th March 2020 in a scheduled manner and in a controlled way.
The Government has taken the decision to temporarily close Gibraltar House in London in the face of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Gibraltar House in Brussels will remain open for the time being.

The Cruise Liner “World Dream” is planning to carry out a technical call at Gibraltar on the 21st March.

The new law, which will come into effect tomorrow, is designed to protect the elderly from exposure to the virus. It generally prohibits the elderly, from leaving their place of residence, unless they are going to purchase food, medical supplies or to work.
Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar have said it has been overwhelmed with the number of people who are coming forward to volunteer their assistance during this time.

As part of the GHA’s continuing plans to address the COVID-19 challenges that lie ahead, the Director of Nursing and the Gibraltar Ambulance Service, Ms Sandra Gracia, together with Professor Ian Peate, the Head of the School of Health Studies, have introduced an intensive six-day training course for 35 members of clinical staff within the GHA.
The Director for Public Health has today advised new criteria for self-isolation.
As a result of further measures announced this weekend, the public counter at the Department of Education will close as from 3pm on Monday 16th March 2020.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Gibraltar Cultural Services will be postponing the Gibraltar Drama Festival. The event was scheduled to take place as from tomorrow, Monday 16th March to Friday 20th March 2020.
In view of the developing situation with COVID-19 HM Government of Gibraltar will temporarily suspend all normal route bus services provided by the Gibraltar Bus Company as from Monday 16th March 2020.
Further to the Chief Minister's statement last night, Her Majesty's Government of Gibraltar notes the terms of Decree of today's date issued by the Spanish Government, declaring and setting out in detail the terms of the State of Emergency which will apply in Spain from midnight on Monday the 16th March and, in particular, the restrictions on movement which will arise as a result.
