The Youth Forum held their first meeting of 2017 as a follow up on issues discussed during a previous meeting that focussed predominantly on education. On this occasion the Minister for Youth, the Hon Steven Linares invited both the Minister for Education, the Hon John Cortes and the acting Director of Education, Darren Grech to the forum.

The group comprising of ten youngsters aged between 13 and 17 met at the Youth Centre and took the opportunity to ask the invited guests questions pertaining to education and various other matters including transport affecting young people in our society. The question and answer session proved to be very informative with the young people participating at all times and feeling privileged to see their views being taken seriously and explored at the highest level.

The Youth Forum would like to invite and encourage participants aged between 13 and 19 from the local community to get involved in the social issues affecting young people in Gibraltar. The forum will offer young people a chance to express their concerns at ministerial level and influence future policies.
