Minister Santos Presents BSL Level 1 Certificates to Apprentices

Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, The Hon. Christian Santos GMD MP, presented apprentices who have completed their British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 qualification with certificates at the Mayor’s Parlour.

The event celebrated the apprentices’ hard work, dedication and enthusiasm in completing Level 1, the first milestone in a six-level qualification pathway, taking an important step toward promoting greater accessibility, inclusion and communication across the community. The successful apprentices have already embarked on their Level 2 training.

The apprentices who received their certificates were Benjamin Borastero, Zulaika Vallance, Tiana Lopes Hesketh, Lewis Jarman, Margaret Henshaw and Christine Ventura.

Minister Santos addressed the attendees and presented the certificates. He said;

“I am extremely proud to present these apprentices with the BSL Level 1 certificates. Learning BSL will help in breaking down communication barriers making our community a more inclusive society where everyone feels heard and valued. I wish to congratulate the recipients and wish them the very best for the rest of the apprenticeship.”
