The Department of Education and Public Health Gibraltar have launched a new survey inviting young people across Gibraltar to share their views on how they spend their free time and the activities they would like to see more of in the community.

Developed by the Public Health team in collaboration with the Department of Education, and with support from the behavioural science team at the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), the survey aims to provide a better understanding of the interests, preferences and experiences of young people.

The survey focuses on how young people spend their free time, what they enjoy doing, and what opportunities they feel are currently available to them. 

In addition to questions about leisure activities, the survey includes a small number of questions relating to screen use. The findings will contribute to wider work being undertaken across Government to better understand screen-time habits and their impact on young people.

The survey is anonymous and takes approximately five minutes to complete. It will be distributed through all secondary schools across Gibraltar, giving young people the opportunity to share their views directly.

The information gathered will help inform future planning and support the development of activities, opportunities and initiatives that better reflect the interests and needs of Gibraltar’s young people.

Their views are invaluable and will help us ensure that future initiatives are shaped by the experiences and aspirations of the young people they are designed to support.”
