After over 20 years of tireless work by the Gibraltar Football Association, and following 2 earlier unsuccessful applications, Gibraltar has this evening become the 211th member to join FIFA.
The FIFA Congress voted 93% in favour of admitting Gibraltar after a CAS [Court of Arbitration for Sport] ruling ordered them to reconsider Gibraltar's application.
The President of the GFA, Michael Llamas QC, delivered a moving speech after the results of the vote were announced.
Kosovo was also voted in during the 66th FIFA Congress in Mexico City.
