Man charged over Forged Passport
27-year-old Stateless National Y. A. will be appearing before the Magistrates' Court this morning, charged with one count of being in Possession of a Forged or Irregular Passport.
The charge follows his arrest by RGP Response Team officers yesterday morning at Joshua Hassan Gibraltar International Airport, after airport ground handling staff carrying out passenger pre-boarding checks for a flight bound for the United Kingdom, identified anomalies with Y. A.’s UK Entry Travel Authorisation (ETA) document.
Y. A. was also found in possession of a forged Dutch passport bearing a false identity, as well as his own valid stateless identity document issued by the Greek authorities.
Y. A. was conveyed to New Mole House, where he was interviewed by officers and later charged.
He was detained overnight at New Mole House and will be appearing before the court this morning.
