Burst Water Main at St Bernard's Hospital

Burst Water Main at St Bernard's Hospital

HM Government of Gibraltar has been informed that the main fresh water supply to St Bernard's Hospital has been affected by a burst pipe, located directly beneath the hospital's incoming valve.

The damaged section of the main will need to be replaced. Contractors from GJBS and AquaGib are on site and are opening a trench to allow the repair works to be carried out.

To keep the hospital supplied during the works, the Gibraltar Health Authority has arranged for a bypass to be included from the adjacent catering facility.

This has affected the Hospital supply for approximately 2hrs as the demand was higher than the supply.

The issue is expected to be resolved by 1pm today. The Gibraltar Health Authority and AquaGib remain in close contact and the Government is grateful to all involved in addressing the burst pipe promptly.
