Work Begins on Sewage Plant Site

Following the approval on Thursday of full planning permission for the enabling works at the site of the waste water (sewage) treatment plant at Brewery Crusher, work was in progress already on Friday morning at Europa Point.

The site has been secured and preparatory ground works have commenced. Eco Waters Ltd and their various subcontractors were present on site during a visit by Minister for Environment John Cortes and CEO Stephen Warr. Initial works include securing the site, removal of rubble and preparation of the ground.

Minister for the Environment, the Hon Prof John Cortes, said:

“After all the problems we’ve had through the years in providing our much needed waste water treatment plant, this is almost a dream come true. We are finally breaking ground and the detailed design work is progressing fast. We have always been committed to this and look forward to progressing the project to completion”.
