Visit Gibraltar Strengthens Cruise Industry Relations at Seatrade Cruise Med 2026

Representatives from Visit Gibraltar attended the 69th MedCruise General Assembly and Seatrade Cruise Med 2026 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, continuing Gibraltar’s engagement with the international cruise industry and strengthening relationships with cruise lines, ports and key industry partners.

The 69th MedCruise General Assembly brought together members of the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports to discuss the organisation’s ongoing work, governance and future priorities. Gibraltar is a founding member of MedCruise and has maintained a longstanding and active involvement in the Association, which provides an important platform for cooperation between cruise ports, destinations and the wider industry.

This was followed by Seatrade Cruise Med on 16 and 17 September at Las Palmas Cruise Port. The event, which serves the cruise community across the Mediterranean and adjoining seas, brought together more than 2,000 cruise professionals and over 180 exhibitors, including cruise line executives, ports, destinations, operators and other industry stakeholders.

The Gibraltar delegation held a programme of meetings with cruise line executives and industry partners and also maintained a dedicated meeting presence within the MedCruise Pavilion, providing an important platform from which to promote the destination and discuss future opportunities with existing and prospective partners.

The meetings were also an opportunity to update cruise line executives on the continued development of Gibraltar’s tourism offering and the new and enhanced experiences being introduced across the destination. These updates were positively received, with interest shown in Gibraltar’s evolving visitor experience and in visiting the destination to see these developments first-hand.

Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, The Hon. Christian Santos GMD MP, said:

I was particularly pleased with the positive response to the developments taking place across our tourism product and the interest shown in coming to Gibraltar to experience these first-hand. We will continue to work closely with our cruise partners to strengthen Gibraltar’s position as an attractive and distinctive port of call.”

Visit Gibraltar will continue its engagement with cruise lines and industry partners following the meetings held in Las Palmas, including opportunities for industry representatives to experience Gibraltar’s developing tourism product first-hand, as part of its wider strategy to maintain existing business, develop new opportunities and strengthen Gibraltar's position within the international cruise market.
