Insurance Apprenticeship returns for sixth consecutive year
The Ministry of Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, in partnership with Senate Insurance Brokers, is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the sixth cycle of the Insurance Apprenticeship Programme.
Now entering its sixth consecutive year, the programme continues to provide aspiring professionals with an opportunity to begin rewarding careers within Gibraltar's insurance sector through a combination of paid employment, structured workplace learning and professional development.
The sixth cycle builds on the success of the previous intake, with seven apprentices from the fifth cycle currently undertaking paid work placements and progressing towards recognised industry qualifications.
The apprenticeship is delivered in collaboration with Gibraltar Insurance Institute as well as participating employers from across Gibraltar's insurance industry. Successful applicants will undertake paid work placements while gaining practical experience across a range of business functions, supported by experienced mentors and working towards recognised qualifications awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
The programme is open to school leavers, college students, university graduates and individuals seeking to establish a long-term career within Gibraltar's insurance industry.
As part of this year's programme, Senate Insurance Brokers is sponsoring a series of professional development workshops to complement apprentices' studies towards the Chartered Insurance Institute's Insurance, Legal and Regulatory (IF1) qualification. Delivered by experienced insurance professionals, the workshops will reinforce key elements of the IF1 syllabus, provide practical industry context and support apprentices in successfully preparing for their examination.
Minister for Employment, Apprenticeships and Skills, the Hon. Christian Santos GMD MP, said:
"I am pleased to launch the sixth cycle of the Insurance Apprenticeship Programme, which continues to provide local people with a valuable pathway into Gibraltar's insurance industry. By combining paid employment, professional qualifications and workplace mentoring, the programme equips apprentices with the skills and experience needed to build successful careers.
I would like to thank the Gibraltar Insurance Institute, Senate Insurance Brokers and our participating employers for their continued commitment to developing local talent and investing in Gibraltar's future workforce."
Applications are now open. Interested applicants are invited to submit their CV by email to apprenticeships@gibraltar.gov.gi by Tuesday 10th November at 12 noon.
