Gibraltar Literary Festival Puts The Rock Firmly On The Cultural Map
Gibraltar Cultural Services on behalf of the Ministries of Culture and Tourism, is delighted to announce the remarkable success of this year’s media campaign promoting the Gibunco Gibraltar Literary Festival 2026, which continues to raise the Rock’s profile as an international centre for culture, arts and ideas.
Recent campaign reporting highlights the impressive reach of interviews conducted with Dame Prue Leith, Dame Penny Mordaunt, Adele Parks, Joanne Harris, Grant Harrold and John Suchet, six of the festival’s distinguished participants. These interviews were hosted across BBC regional stations throughout the UK, collectively reaching an estimated audience of nearly 7.63 million people nationwide. This extensive national coverage showcases Gibraltar’s growing appeal as a vibrant cultural destination and underlines the festival’s success in attracting international attention.
Minister for Culture and Tourism, The Hon Christian Santos GMD MP, commented on these results:
“I am extremely pleased with the continued efforts of the Gibraltar Tourist Board, Gibraltar Cultural Services and their partners to promote The Gibunco Gibraltar Literary Festival in Gibraltar and further afield. The coverage in the UK helps to pinpoint Gibraltar on the cultural map. The calibre of our participants will definitely encourage people to visit Gibraltar for the festival and beyond, where they will get the chance to experience the Rock’s hospitality, history and sites firsthand.”
