70th Gibraltar International Drama Festival

Gibraltar Cultural Services (GCS), on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, is pleased to announce that the Gibraltar International Drama Festival will be holding its 70th edition at the Ince’s Hall Theatre from Monday 15th to Saturday 20th March 2027.

The festival is open to any drama group, and the plays will be adjudicated by a member of the Guild of Drama Adjudicators UK. Non-competitive entries will also be accepted.

The group winning the Best Play Award will receive a cash prize of £1,000, as well as a bursary to participate at the National Drama Festival UK final. Other awards will be presented for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and other categories.

A small grant will be payable to each participating group to assist with production expenses.

As the festival celebrates its 70th edition, GCS warmly encourages former participants, directors, actors, backstage crew and drama groups who have contributed to its rich history over the decades to consider returning and taking part in this landmark edition. This special milestone provides a unique opportunity to celebrate the legacy of theatre in Gibraltar and recognise those who have helped shape the festival's success throughout the years.
