LIBERAL PARTY
I trust that the campaign will concentrate on the issues and the policies that the different political groups will put forward to the electorate
My colleagues and I are looking forward to the coming general election campaign.
I trust that the campaign will concentrate on the issues and the policies that the different political groups will put forward to the electorate. This is what people want to know more about.
I have been in politics for twenty years and have had the privilege to serve as a Member of Parliament for more than twelve years.
Whenever a general election is called there is always a sense of excitement and expectation. On this occasion, this is fuelled even further by the genuine desire that exists in many sectors of Gibraltar for a change of Government.
Indeed, I am confident that more people than ever want this change and that with it they also want to see a complete transformation of the way in which Gibraltar is governed.
The result of the 2007 general election was a very close affair. We will all work tirelessly, with our colleagues in the GSLP, to ensure that after the 2011 general election, the next Government of Gibraltar is a GSLP/Liberal Government.
I am confident that we can count on the support of the people to make this change happen.
The Executive Committee of the Liberal Party will now be meeting to commence the formal process of candidate selection.
