Unite the Union Health & Safety Reps. completed their 10 day Health & Safety Course this last Friday.  The course was carried out by Union members from the Private and Public Sector.

The objective was to educate Health & Safety Reps. on Health & Safety Laws and Regulations in the work place.

The role of Health & Safety Reps. would be to healthier and safer environment for workers throughout Gibraltar.  Angelique said “I thoroughly enjoyed the course and look forward to discussing issues with management”.  The Health & Safety Reps. will be approaching their respective organisations with a view of setting up policies and procedures awareness within the workplace.

One issue highlighted and of grave concern is the issue of bullying and harassment in the workplace and other stress related issues which can affect work mental and physical health.

A Health & Safety Committee has been formed which will be meeting to collate and deal with urgent issues.
