Vox Gibraltar News: Krystle Robba Finishes 2nd Krystle Robba Finishes 2nd ================================================================================ vox on 17 July, 2006 06:55 The final of the 10th MISS TOURISM PLANET and MISS MEDITERRANEAN 2006 took place in Greece and Krystle Robba, Model Search Winner 2005, was selected as 2nd Runner up and Miss Friendship. ‘We are delighted with Krystle's performance,’ said Charlene Figueras. 'Comments throughout the two weeks were extremely positive and we knew that Krystle would do well. Her skills, her looks and her friendliness helped Krystle stand out from a group of very beautiful models. She competed in swimwear, evening gown and national/fantasy costume and she had enormous stage presence.' For Krystle the experience was a new and very positive one. 'The mere thought of travelling to Greece was exciting. I had never travelled so far on my own. During the first few days I found myself feeling a little lost, since I was only starting to get to know the other delegates. However, these feelings did not last too long as I soon found them all very friendly and helpful. I was one of the few who had never attended an international contest before as most girls go from contest to contest throughout the world gaining experience, so the others would often give me advice and tips that proved to be extremely useful. 'The beautiful island of Limnos, where Miss Mediterranean was held, captured the true essence of Greece and I was constantly impressed by the scenery, its people and their traditions. I thoroughly enjoyed the competition and was extremely happy to obtain the second runner up position and Miss Friendship. I was representing the smallest country and to have performed as well as I did against experienced models from big countries like France, Spain and Greece for example felt like a huge achievement to me. 'However, I did see too how delegates from bigger countries like Spain or Italy for instance were called to do interviews and were introduced to more people, whilst I was used as the translator! Nevertheless apart from this, I enjoyed every moment and thoroughly recommend the experience. I made good friends from different countries, was invited to attend various other contests and got to meet many interesting people involved in the fashion industry. It was definitely something that I would love to repeat if I have the chance!'
