Officers of the Crime and Protective Services Division are investigating the unexplained death of a man whose body was discovered on the 15th February 2016.

The deceased is believed to be a locally resident 77 year old British man, born in Morocco.

The deceased was found in his residence within 21/25 Flat Bastion Road. The discovery was made by officers investigating the cause of a fire in a separate unoccupied flat within the same building. Investigating officers do not at this stage believe that the death of the man and the fire are connected and no foul play is suspected.

HM Coroner has been informed and a post mortem examination is expected to take place later this week.
