Members of the public are once again invited to celebrate World Book Day at the John Mackintosh Hall on Thursday 3rd March 2016.

This year’s theme will be “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum. Children are encouraged to come dressed in their favourite book character costume.

Doors will open at 9am with the popular Book Crossing and Book Fair in the Lower Exhibition room, where books may be taken free of charge or as part of the Book Crossing “bring a book – take a book”.

Local authors will be present as from 9:30am in the Gallery, where they will be promoting, signing and selling their books.

Authors wishing to set up a stand may collect an application form from the John Mackintosh Hall reception, and are advised to apply as soon as possible due to the limited number of spaces available. Allocations will be given on a first come first served basis.

From 4:30 to 5:30pm, there will be a spectacular story-telling session in the Theatre with songs and dances performed by the Tears of Joy choir and Transitions Dance Academy. World Book Day at the John Mackintosh Hall promises to be a day not to be missed!
