ArtDance Gibraltar 2019 is excited to announce their line up for this year’s festival, bringing the biggest names in the performing arts to Gibraltar.

ArtDance will be offering numerous workshops throughout the year, giving the youth an incredible opportunity to learn and grow in various aspects of dance and theatre. A spokesperson for the international dance platform said, "We will be introducing a Lighting course for the youth (free of charge) this April. It is an intensive, practical 3-day course exploring the thought processes and techniques involved in creating lighting for the stage. Local Lighting Technician, Mark Cortes, will be leading the course in our local theatre, The John Mackintosh Hall. On the final evening of the course there will be a showcase of their works in which the public is invited to watch dance pieces with lighting provided by the students followed by a presentation. The main event will be held outdoors at the John Mackintosh Square (Piazza) at 8:30pm on Saturday 4th May.  "The area will be transformed into a performance area inviting professional international touring artists to share the stage alongside local acts. The companies attending this year have their own unique style that will have the audience on the edge of their seats. We have the ever popular Iron Skulls Co (Barcelona) who have been invited once again due to popular demand, Cyr Wheel acrobatic Solo act by David Vento (Madrid), break company FreeFly Crew (UK) and a trio act that is pushing boundaries worldwide Wayward Thread (Intl). Local acts Art In Movement and Innovations will be performing on stage, as well as boys Southern Kids Crew.

The event will be free of charge but seats MUST be reserved beforehand at www.buytickets.gi as from 12th April.

On the lead up to the event there will be open workshops by Iron Skulls Co & Wayward Thread.
