This year’s Convent Open Day on is Saturday 12th May, from 11am to 3pm.

His Excellency the Governor said, “After a long and unusually wet winter, summer is thankfully just around the corner. It is therefore time for the Convent Open Day – our ninth. As ever, we will be putting on a wide range of interesting and fun activities, exhibits and stalls for everybody to enjoy. The result is a wonderful event in the beautiful surroundings of the Convent which raises much-needed funds for four most-deserving local charities. Please come along and join in the fun”.

Admission costs £1 with proceeds supporting Prostate Cancer, Gibraltar Community Association, League of Hospital Friends, and The Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry Society of Gibraltar. Tickets are available in advance from The Convent rear guard post on 2nd May, or on the day.

Events and Stalls

Cakes and refreshments, including scones with clotted cream, hot dogs, and burgers.

Variety of stalls including: The Red Cross, Heritage Trust, Friends of Mount Alvernia and Williams Centre; Plant stall; and Convent Marmalade stall.

A large exhibition by the Gibraltar Model Soldier Society.

The Gibraltar Defence Police dogs.

Children’s activities including: Face Painting, a bouncy castle, hair braiding.

Plus the beautiful gardens and fine rooms to enjoy.

Disabled access to the Convent reception areas and most of the garden is available. Anyone requiring assistance is encouraged to contact the Convent in advance.
