Day 7 at the XXI Commonwealth Games on The Gold Coast saw Team Gibraltar in action on just two fronts, Shooting and Rhythmic Gymnastics.

It was Pistol Shooting up first with Jonathan Patron and Daniel Payas on the firing line at the Belmont Range in Brisbane to participate in the 50m Free Pistol event.

The pair had mixed fortunes in their first event (10m Air) and were looking to build on their previous performances.  Daniel shooting in his 1st Games ended up in 15th place with a score of 510 (4x), afterwards he said  “ I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will take a lot away from the Games, it’s certainly better to shoot than be team manager”.

Jonathan had to shoot with a modified stance after injury in his first event and shot 517 (5x) finishing 13th, the second highest placed European in the competition.

Emma Bosio was competing at the Coomera Indoor centre mid morning. The youngster also had to contend with an ankle injury picked up whilst training in Australia.  She had an X-ray and MRI and received excellent medical attention and was ultimately signed off to compete. She was absolutely determined to compete and put in four solid performances in her routines, Ball, Hoop, Clubs and Ribbon despite carrying an injury.
