Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau will be holding a Charities Fair at Boyd’s Leisure Centre on Friday 10th November from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

The aim is for the different charities to showcase their work and recruit prospective volunteers interested in supporting the individual charities. Charities will be invited to set up a stall, display their work and talk to different people about the different charitable work that they undertake for the community.

"Our focus is to encourage people to get up, get going and get active. We want to raise awareness about volunteering opportunities and inspire people to volunteer, whatever their passion, whenever and wherever they choose to do it."

"There will be opportunities to find out what roles are on offer and find out what interests you more. Volunteering must be a choice freely made by each individual to be able to choose what they are more comfortable with and ultimately dedicate time to."

Charities can also provide Citizens Advice with links to their website https://www.here2help.gi/ to spread the word through social media networks and be able to showcase volunteer community needs.

"Our intention is to build stronger connections between organisations and individuals at a local level by giving people better information about volunteering opportunities in Gibraltar and helping organisations reach more diverse communities."

It is also a good opportunity for the general public to become aware of what help is available to them, provided by these charitable organisations.

CAB Gibraltar would like to thank existing volunteers for their effort, dedication and selflessly giving up their time to help others less fortunate than themselves.

The event will be opened by Mrs Justine Picardo at 9.45am and will be attended by over 20 local Charities.
