The Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia held a friendly and productive meeting yesterday with the UK Minister for Europe and the Americas Sir Alan Duncan MP at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The Chief Minister took the opportunity to continue the discussion on matters of importance to Gibraltar including specific issues related to the departure of the United Kingdom from the European Union.

There was a busy schedule of meetings throughout the day, all related to Brexit, including a working lunch with the UK Minister of State for Immigration and borders policy Robert Goodwill MP.

In the late afternoon, the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister met with long-time supporter of Gibraltar Bob Neil MP and also with a number of Members of the House of Lords with an interest in the affairs of Gibraltar, including the Brexit spokesperson of the Labour Party Baroness Hayter.

These meetings were a prelude to the debate about the House of Lords report on Brexit this evening, which includes a section on Gibraltar. Mr Picardo and Dr Garcia will witness the proceedings from the diplomatic gallery of the House of Lords.
