It’s that special time of the year again, as Christmas approaches and Gibraltar will be holding its fourth Small Business Saturday on the 3rd December 2016 as from 11.00 am. The aim of this event is to promote and boost commercial activity in Gibraltar. It will take place along Main Street and its adjacent areas, covering Main Street up to the Convent, the Piazza, and Chatham Counterguard.

A number of activities are being organised as part of the event, such as the Soulmates (full band), magic shows, and children’s entertainments. The traditional Round Table Santa Sleigh Pull in aid of charity will take place along main Street, with a chance to meet Santa during the day.

The event, which has been jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Commerce is part of the Government’s efforts to promote trade locally and is supported by the Business Support Unit of the Office of Fair Trading, the Gibraltar Federation of Small Businesses and the Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce.

As has been traditional for the past few years, the fairground rides at the Piazza will be free of charge during from 11.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. on that day.

The Minister for Commerce, the Hon Albert Isola said “This event has been a great success over the last three years and I am delighted to be able to announce that it is being repeated this year. The Government is always seeking ways of promoting business in Gibraltar and Small Business Saturday not only helps businesses in the run-up to Christmas, but also provides a day of fun filled activities for children and adults to enjoy. I wish the event every success
