The Ministry for Infrastructure and Planning is pleased to announce that as from Thursday 1st December 2016, HMGoG will be launching a pilot Pay & Display zone at Watergardens as part of Sustainable Traffic, Transport and Parking Plan.

The area will now provide 12 Pay & Display parking bays operational from the hours of 10:00 to 22:00 Monday to Friday and 10:00 to 14:00 on Saturdays, with Sundays free. There are also 30 minute loading and unloading bays to either side of the zone, disabled and motorcycle bays and free parking.

The introduction of these Pay & Display areas are in keeping with the recommendations of the plan and are intended to provide parking turnaround and access to the area with free parking beyond the Pay & Display times.

The Minister for Infrastructure and Planning the Hon Paul Balban said:

I am pleased to see yet another pilot scheme as of part of the continued workings of the STTPP. The STTPP has highlighted the need to provide quick turnaround of vehicles especially near commercial areas. This will no doubt help to alleviate the misuse of parking and help assist persons wishing to visit the shops and restaurants in the area. This is also expected to reduce the prevalence of obstructing vehicles in the dual carriage way and help traffic.
