The Gibraltar Tourist Board and the Finance Centre Department will be holding a series of high profile events in Morocco between 27th November and 1st December.

The activities will take the form of tourism roadshows, similar to those habitually organised by the GTB in the UK, and include breakfasts, business and finance presentations, B2B opportunities and presentations on the destination.

Minister for Tourism, Gilbert Licudi and Minister for Commerce, Albert Isola , will be leading the local delegation.

The event will include a series of presentations in Marrakesh, Casablanca and Tangier at which a cross-section of Moroccan tourism representatives, travel agents and members of the business community will be invited to attend.

The Moroccan press will also be asked to cover the events.

Mr Licudi said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to promote Gibraltar and all it has to offer as a destination both for leisure and for business clients.

It is important that we establish fluid commercial and business links with Morocco. We have substantial historical links with the North African country and also have direct air links with Tangier and Casablanca which can assist in developing further business ties.

This will open up new markets for the benefit of both the tourist and finance industries on both sides of the Strait.”

Minister Isola added “I am particularly keen on exploring avenues where Gibraltar and Moroccan financial services firms can work together in mutually beneficial areas of business. Ours is very much a step forward in beginning to highlight what Gibraltar’s financial services sector has to offer and I am delighted that we are also able to support the Gibraltar Tourist Board."
