A twenty eight year old local man was yesterday sentenced to imprisonment following his conviction earlier this year for a number of serious sexual offences. The offences date to the years 2009 and 2012 and involve two separate victims.

Darryl Martinez, aged 28, of Glacis Estate was sentenced to five years imprisonment for rape, and twenty months imprisonment for two counts of indecent assault of a girl under the age of sixteen, the sentences will run concurrently.

Martinez was further sentenced to twelve months imprisonment for one count of indecent assault of a girl under the age of sixteen. This sentence to be served consecutively.

The total term of imprisonment is six years.
