In connection with a video clip currently being shared across social media, depicting a male person that can be seen shouting and interfering with motor vehicles in the area of Governor’s Street, the RGP have released a statement where it "wishes to reassure the public and clarify the facts relating to the incident in question."

"At about 1915hrs on Saturday 23rd July 2016, officers responded to complaints received from the public regarding a male person causing a disturbance and interfering with traffic in the area of Governor’s Street.
As a result, 52yr old Polish national Szczensny Tomasz SMOLINSKI, a resident of La Linea, Spain, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct Whilst Intoxicated.

SMOLINSKI is also alleged to have damaged vehicles that had been travelling through this same area, whilst shouting comments that may have been considered offensive or alarming to the public in the current security climate. Those matters are also the subject of ongoing police enquires.'
