Governor’s Meadow First School recently held an ‘Evacuation Day’ in order to ensure our local culture and heritage continues to be part of our teaching and learning.

Children and staff members came to school dressed in the typical attire of the period, and were involved in a number of activities to develop and maintain awareness of this significant time in our local history.

Mr Tito Vallejo very kindly visited the school and shared his stories, knowledge and pictures in order to help the children understand the impact of this event on the past generations.

The nursery children once again ‘evacuated’ to the Commonwealth Park and were involved in traditional games throughout the morning.
