The Gibraltar Tourist Board extends a warm welcome to Le Lyrial on its inaugural call to Gibraltar today. Le Lyrial, of the Ponant Group, is a luxury style yacht with a capacity of 264 passengers.

As has become traditional, upon arrival an inaugural ceremony was conducted on board during which an exchange of plaques between the ship’s Captain and the GTB took place. Representatives from the Port and Wilhelmsen, Le Lyrial’s local agents, were also in attendance.

Minister for Tourism, the Hon Samantha Sacramento, said: ‘I am extremely pleased to welcome Le Lyrial to the Rock on its inaugural call, and wish its passengers and crew an enjoyable and memorable visit. The high number of inaugural cruise calls that Gibraltar has received over recent weeks is testament to the successful policy of this Government and the hard work of the Gibraltar Tourist Board in aggressively marketing Gibraltar’s tourist product. Furthermore, the diversity of the ships from large family-friendly cruise liners to luxury yachts such as Le Lyrial, really showcases that Gibraltar has something to offer everybody.
