Ranking (Masters Singles)
"Dylan Duo set to regain number 1 spot by end of season".
Fast and furious ranking events are the order of the day in trying to qualify for this year's European Cup, Mediterranean Cup & the British Darts Organisation Torremolinos Open.
The rankings are shaping up in similar fashion to last year with Dylan Duo being the likely contender to regain his no.1 spot which he lost last year in the 4th and final ranking event.
With only 1 ranking remaining it does appear very difficult for Dylan to lose it this year unless there is a major upset. This being Dylan losing in the 1st round and Dyson Parody has to win the final ranking. In that case both players will be seeded number 1 in Gibraltar.
However the buzz is all about the Pro's who will be here in Gibraltar on the 18th to 20th January 2008 (Central Hall) and it showed in this recent ranking as the attendance figures were high.
It was also good to see an old face back on the scene, Johnny Wood, who made a guest appearance and commented on the standard of play he witnessed that night, quoting "I see no reason why we can't challenge any of the Pro's".
No real major upsets and the usual suspects reached the semi-finals. These being Henry Zapata vs Dylan Duo & Dyson Parody vs George Ramos. Apart from the finalists who played a blinder, credit must be given to Dayle Ramirez and George Ramos who also produced quality darts.
Set to meet each other in many finals in the years to come, Dyson Parody & Dylan Duo showed why they are current number 1 & 2 seeds in Gibraltar (respectively). With 12 darts thrown, both players ON ALL but 1 leg played where on a finish which statistically means they were averaging over 100 per throw. The match included high scoring, high finishing and a close scoreline which made it a spectacle to watch. Final scoreline 6-4 in favour of Dylan Duo.
Commiserations to Dyson Parody, Congratulations to Dylan Duo!
