Inter School Boys Football Competition
The 11th boy's inter school football competition is now nearing the end with the shield and medal presentations scheduled for this Thursday by representatives of the GFA.

This year the clear winner was again St. Anne's who have managed to accumulate an impressive 22 out of a possible 24 points. That is not to say that all games were easy as both St. Joseph's and Bishop Fitzgerald proved very strong challengers. Loreto Convent once again emerged as the dark horse of the tournament upsetting Bishop Fitzgerald with a 3:0 win and acquitting themselves admirably against St. Anne's and St. Joseph's. The Sacred Heart boy's having significantly low numbers of pupils compared to the other schools are beginning to find sporting competitions tough but they gave a good account of themselves on many occassions.

This Thursday sees the culmination of the last round of matches at 4:00 p.m at the Victoria Stadium with St. Joseph's and Bishop Fitzgerald still having to battle it out for second spot.

Next week the equally popular girl's inter school football competition kicks off with the same league format being played as with the boys.
