Gibraltar Table Soccer Association The Lightning Tournament Results

Last weekend 27th-28th June the Gibraltar Table Soccer Association hosted a Lightning Tournament at the Garrison Gym.

A total of 27 players participated, 12 under 12's  & 15 seniors.

The under 12 that participated were- 4 from G.T.S.A. Kyle Tellez, Richard Osborne, Guy Palmer Jnr, Peter Sardeña Jnr, And 8 from Tiburones Andalucia (Estepa & Sevilla) David Gonzalez, Ana Jimenez, Miguel Tejada, Carlos Rodriguez, Jesus Moreno, Javier Moreno, Juan Antonio Moreno, Jose Javier Torres.

The under 12 Lightning Event was played in 4 Groups of 3 players.

In Group 1 Kyle Tellez beat Jesus Moreno 3-0 & drew 1-1 with Guy Palmer Jnr, Guy Palmer Jnr Drew his second match 0-0 Vs Jesus Moreno, Kyle & Guy Qualified for the Quarter Finals.

In Group 2 Javier Moreno beat Miguel Tejada 1-0 & drew 1-1 Vs Jose Javier Torres, Miguel Tejada beat Jose Javier Torres 2-0. Javier Moreno & Miguel Tejada Qualified for the Quarter Finals.

In Group 3 David Gonzalez beat Peter Sardeña Jnr 1-0 & drew 2-2 Vs Julian Osborne, Peter Sardeña Jnr beat Julian Osborne by 1-0 score, David Gonzalez & Peter Sardeña Jnr Qualified for the Quarter Finals.

In Group 4 Carlos Rodriguez beat Ana Jimenez by 2-0 & lost 1-0 to Juan Antonio Moreno, Juan Antonio Moreno beat Ana Jimenez by 1-0 score, Juan Antonio Moreno & Carlos Rodriguez Qualified for the Quarter Finals.

In the Quarter Finals Kyle Tellez beat Peter Sardeña Jnr 5-0 , Miguel Tejada beat Juan Antonio Moreno by 2-0, David Gonzalez beat Guy Palmer Jnr by 2-0, & Carlos Rodriguez beat Javier Moreno by 1-0 score.

In the Semi-Finals Kyle Tellez beat Miguel Tejada by 2-0 & in the other Semi-Final David Gonzalez beat Carlos Rodriguez by 1-0.

In the Final in a very well played match Kyle Tellez beat David Gonzalez by 2-0. well done Kyle.

The under 12 Consolation Plate Semi-Finals Julian Osborne beat Jesus Moreno by 1-0 & Ana Jimenez beat Jose Javier Torres by 1-0.

In the Final Julian Osborne beat Ana Jimenez  (the only girl participant) by 3-0 score. well done Julian.

The senior Lightning Event was played in 5 Groups of 3 players.

In Group 1 Alan Crisp drew 0-0 Vs Antonio Montaño & beat Mark Muscat by 8-0, Antonio Montaño beat Mark Muscat by 5-0 score, Alan & Antonio Qualified for the Quarter Finals.

In Group 2 Guy Palmer beat Anibal Luque by 3-0 & Dennis Ballester by 8-0, Dennis Ballester beat Anibal Luque by 1-0 score. Guy Qualified for the Quarter Final & Dennis Qualified for Barrages.

In Group 3 John Field beat Chris Muscat by 8-0 & Manuel Martinez By 7-0, Manuel Martinez beat Chris Muscat by 2-0.

John Qualified for the Quarter Final & Manuel Qualified for Barrages.

In Group 4 Eddie Tellez beat Hector Zammit by 2-0 & Derek Hosken By 3-0, Hector Zammit beat Derek Hosken by 3-0 score. Eddie Qualified for the Quarter Final & Hector Qualified for Barrages.

In Group 5 Lawrence Alvarez beat Richard Osborne by 4-2 & beat Abraham Garcia by 2-0, Richard Osborne beat Abraham Garcia by 1-0 score. Lawrence Qualified for the Quarter Final & Richard Qualified for Barrages.

In the Barrages Manuel Martinez beat Dennis Ballester by 2-0 To reach the Quarter Final & Hector Zammit beat Richard Osborne in a very Close match by 1-0 to reach the Quarter Final.

In the Quarter Finals Alan Crisp beat Manuel Martinez by 2-0, & in a fantastic match after a 1-1 draw Eddie Tellez beat Lawrence Alvarez 3-1 on a penalty shoot out, John Field beat Antonio Montaño by 5-0, & Guy Palmer beat Hector Zammit by 4-0.

In the Semi-Finals Alan Crisp beat Eddie Tellez 3-0 on Penalties after a great 0-0 match, In the other Semi-Final John Field beat Guy Palmer by 3-0 score.

In the Final John Field beat Alan Crisp 1-0 with a Superb goal. Well-done John.

In the Senior Consolation Plate Semi-Finals Chris Muscat beat his brother mark by 1-0, & Abraham Garcia beat his team mate Anibal Luque by 1-0.
