The Marbella corruption scandal looks as though it’s going to last longer than Coronation Street. Apart from the Sixty arrested which included three ex Mayors of Marbella the scandal code-named Malaga by the anti-corruption police the arrests still continue. The latest was a developer who is still behind bars because he cannot afford the ½ million Euro bail set by the badge. Every day new stars to the soap come out apart from ex mayor Muñoz wife who is now on bail include The President of the Puerto Santa Maria Football Club, The ex President of the Sevilla Football Club as well a bank director and the brother of the famous savings bank director. Maite Saldiva dear Julian Munoz’s ex wife is the new star to appear apart from nine other arrested and in supporting roles.
All the people in fact the majority of all arrested are charged with coercion and money laundering (Mr Mariano Rajoy please note).
The Director General of the Police has said that so far the investigation reveals that Antonio Rocca is the head of the corrupt clan and he shared 22 million euros in bribes with Marbella city Councillor between 2004 and 2006. The Civil Guard do not discount further arrests.
NET WIDENS
The Marbella saga has triggered off other investigations and it seems that soon similar action will be taken with regards to other municipalities in the Campo. Watch this space
IMPARTIAL
The Audiovisual Corporation of Andalucia has warned the Municipality of La Linea that it is obliged to adhere to the code of conduct of radio and television transmissions. This lack of neutrality has resulted in serious criticism of the station and a particular programme which resorts to insults and slander of individuals and organizations who are opposed to the governing municipal party the Partido Popular led by Clown Juarez.
Evidence has been furnished by the Citizens Association in the form of tapes of each programme between 2004 - 2006.
The audio visual Corporation of Andalucia highlight extensive contraventions and especially the deliberate acts confusing information and opinions.
Above all the main individual criticised is Manuel Aguilera, Mayor Juarez’s henchman and well known for his extreme right learning’s. Mariano Rajoy leader of the Spanish National Popular Party must be very proud of this ex falange Party member.
Anyone who is invited to participate in the La Linea Radio and Television should beware and especially of the Pepe Iria programme. You have been warned.
Cases such as these do not surprise anyone and nearer home insults and slander lead to litigation in Court as it should be. One sided opinions is another matter.
MYSTERY
Where has all the money gone? As the song goes. Buffoon Juarez, Mayor of Bankrupt La Linea will soon be getting his come uppance for his actions legal or illegal. Choose whichever you want, but the latest is that he has been summoned to attend a Cadiz Court to answer charges levied the Anti – corruption and Fiscal Attorney General regarding infractions concerning urban laws as well as environmental irregularities.
Clown Juarez is accused of selling municipal owned land to the value of 36 million euros since 1999 (which this column revealed some months ago) when Juarez came to power. He should have used the proceeds of the sales to purchase other assets and increase municipal wealth but so far no one is aware of where the funds have gone.
Juarez who was elected Mayor in La Linea as a GIL candidate and later change shirts to Popular Party maybe going in the same direction as his ex GIL and 88 compatriots who are involved in the Marbella corruption scandal.
HONEST JOES
The Civil Guard and anti-corruption squad has its hands full cleaning up the Comarca, and further afield, of robbery, corruption, embezzlement and money laundering.
The latest is a scam controlled by seven individuals at a factory at the Guadaranque Industrial Site. These crooks stole diesel oil from their bosses at the level of 200 000 litres a month and flogged it to a petrol station and goods distribution company further inland.
This thievery seems to have been going on for a long time and the quantity of diesel stolen is astronomical the individuals responsible who worked in the company’s fuel distribution department.
One can assume that all seven owned diesel operated cars! Anyway they won’t use them for some time because they are now in clink waiting for their case to be called which must be before four years.
WIN A PRIZE
When will most of us phoning individuals at Barclays Bank get a reply from a human being, first time, and not a computer voice or voice mail or whatever Barclays want to call it.
That will be the day.
If anyone does get a first time human response please join the queue. You may have to wait for the computer voice, or whatever, to rattle off a number. However “maybe today, better tomorrow” will be better.
Where ever did I hear “client care and attention”? What one can be sure of is that we will hear of 1000 million pound profits at the next annual meeting of the parent company.
The Chief Manager of Barclays is a fabulous banker and hopefully will look into it.
FIRE EXIT
There is a chain protected exit at the back of I believe Saint Anne’s school at Bayside. But there are many many motorcycles blocking easy escape. This selfish irresponsibility could one day lead to a serious incident and consequences which God forbid may result in mortality.
Something should be done quick. Maybe start with a few clamps and big fines.
