UNO WHAT
The United Nations Organisation based in New York is again been shaken by the tremors of fraud and corruption. This time Kofi Annan employees have been claiming huge sums of money in school fees for children that do not exist. Other employees have defrauded the US tax revenues by claiming refunds on property taxes and mortgage interests.

These corrupt practices have been brought to light by a Chief Auditor of the United Nations.

Why is it that International bodies are invariably embroiled in these types of scandals? Pulling the rug will lead to nothing as it did when a European Union Auditor revealed the massive corruption and fraud going on in Brussels. And what happened? Neil Kinnock a British EU Commissioner who was specifically charged with cleaning up fraud suspended the Auditor and allowed the whole stinking saga to continue. And given the stories one hears about the UN and the EU it is still going on.

Some of the stories about corruption in the United Nations really makes ones hair curl. If anything Kofi Annan will be remembered as the Secretary General whose son and top officials were involved in the Iraq food for oil programme, when millions of dollars were trousered.

SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
If you are thinking of doing the 100 kilometre pilgrimage walk to get your ecclesiastical certificate do so by all means. But be careful with the hostals on the way. Most if not all have been closed by the authorities, not church but health, because of a massive infestation by LICE. The Holy unwashed are being blamed for this.

Whatever you do be careful! You wont get indulgences or a front seat in heaven if you’ve got lice.

GOODWILL
The Cordoba spirit of new friendship and understanding and collaboration lasted a short time and the queues at the frontier both pedestrian and vehicular, both ways, are getting longer and longer. And don’t tell me or any other reasonable Gibraltarian, or Spaniard for that matter that it is traffic volume, or Puentes, or whatever. It seems to be the same old mean minded bigotry. And to the extent and true to his tradition that Jump on the bandwagon Juarez, mayor of Bankrupt La Linea adds his little grain of sand suggesting that the traffic flows at the frontier should be improved. Quick off the mark to hammer Juarez into the ground is Francisco Ponce of an organisation called CITIPEG, whatever that may mean but has something to do with Spanish workers. Francisco or Paco Ponce comments that Juarez has done nothing for Spanish workers or even Pensioners.

Whatever these two Spaniards may say one must ask oneself whether the queues are a demonstration of huge good will by Spain as so often trumpted by another Paco in Gibraltar. The goodwill not queues.

Will Gibraltar ever see the easing of the end of queues. Like St Thomas of Aquinas I will believe it when l see it.

FOUL
The scandal and saga of Gibraltar’s justified and legally supported application to join UEFA continues unabated. If anything it proves you cannot trust Spanish Politicians of whatever colour whatever they say about the new climate of co-operation. It is still within the power of the Spanish Government to withdraw affections to Gibraltar joining this football organisation even after UEFA were told by a court of law, internationally recognised, to accept Gibraltar’s application. They haven’t yet done so and this proves to us lesser mortals that true to tradition Spain signs up to all international and European Agreements and then does what it likes.
They even proposed an amendment to the UEFA rules, only to keep Gibraltar out. That was that the only members allowed to belong to UEFA are those sovereign recognised by the United Nations etc etc etc.

In total ignorance one could well ask what are places like Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland doing in the EUFA. Something stinks to high hell and it comes from the Iberian peninsula as always.
UEFA had better be careful. Soon they may have to consider applications from the Basque and Catalan Province and that would certainly put the cat among the pigeons. Not “Palomos”.

ADULTERER & CO
David Blunket, ex minister of Tony Blair's Government, twice and well known for his paternity suit (twice?) to prove that a son was his born to the American wife of a well known U.K. publisher has suggested in a book he has written that the U.K. should send terrorists to Gibraltar. Why not Sheffield which is his home town. Terrorists would be more at home there. Whatever it keeps the question as to the quality of ministers that Blair appointed to his Government a lot of whom were queers or had rancid relations a la Brown/Blair. Some resigned some didn’t others were booted upstairs to become European Union Commissioners a La Mandelson and others had to resign for telling “porkies” in parliament. One other famous welshman in Blairs cabinet was caught in Clapham Common looking for the golden rivet and had to resign too. Another is a South African subversive expert on cricket pitches and door locks.

With a bunch like these in Government at one time or another and who Tony Blair directed through an ex alcoholic and depressive no wonder they have made such a hash of their years in office. If not ask poor Professor David Kelly’s wife and family.

May the Good Lord save Gibraltar from these degenerates.
