Valter Borin Returns to Gib
The very popular Italian tenor Valter Borin will be performing in The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society's traditional Christmas concert (this year re-named "Christmas in Gibraltar") on the 10th December at the Sacred Heart Parish Church commencing at 8:30pm.
The concert will also feature Soprano Stefanna Kybalova of the Arena di Verona; Baritone Paul Armin Edelmann of the Vienna State Opera; and the European Sinfonietta will be conducted by Karel Mark Chichon.
The programme of music will include works by Mozart, Bizet, Mendelssohn, Pauls, Ramirez, Adam and traditional Christmas Songs.
A Society spokesman said; "it is always a delight to have artists returning to Gibraltar and when we saw the opportunity of inviting Mr Borin for his third concert in Gibraltar we seized the opportunity, as did he - Mr Borin is very much looking forward to the concert as he loves performing here".
His many concert performances include the memorable 1999 Opera Gala in Graz, Austria, performing alongside tenor José Cura, and the "Three Gala Tenors" in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, alongside Giuseppe Giacomini and Jaime Aragall.
In 2003 he made his debut at the Vienna State Opera, Florence Opera House and Teatro Regio Opera House of Parma, Italy.
